Meet Doug: While doing volunteer work, Doug met Sarah who talked about her family's business: Fosters Mattress. Because of his back problems, chronic pain, and sleep issues, Doug started asking Sarah more questions. What began as working at the store on the weekends so he could purchase an adjustable base and mattress turned into a career helping people find the right mattress for them. Through alleviating his own back problems and sleep issues by sleeping adjusted with a bed and base from Fosters Mattress, Doug was motivated to help others, and has now been selling mattresses for 15 years. He is passionate about helping people ease their aches and pains through a better night's sleep.

Meet Charles: With over 25 years experience in the bedding industry, Charles is passionate about optimizing one's sleep experience. He began his career in Phoenix working for a local sleep shop and soon realized how much he enjoyed working with people to fit them with the right mattress for their lifestyle. Charles has an innate curiosity that ensures he's constantly reading up on (and remembering with uncanny detail!) the latest mattress and adjustable base technology. And his wealth of knowledge about products and people's sleep habits is ample proof that he's in the right industry. When Charles and Sarah moved to Iowa, he took that opportunity to fulfill his dream of opening his own sleep shop. Fosters Mattress has been a labor of love and Charles is committed to finding the right mattress for every customer, because in the words of their kids, "Every night is important!"

Meet Sarah: Here's your bedtime fairytale: Originally from Cedar Falls, Sarah moved to Colorado and then Arizona after graduating from Wartburg College. On her first day in Arizona, she met the mattress man, Charles Foster, and a year later, they were married. Sarah has been part of the family-owned business for 15 years, but joined the Fosters Mattress team partway through, after working in communication, marketing and fundraising for a successful nonprofit. Sarah is unwaveringly passionate about her community, lifting up other locally-owned businesses, and making sure that people feel comfortable and welcome in the sleep shop. And the ending to this story? Sarah will be first to tell you that sleeping adjusted really does help with snoring - although she's quite sure she just purred like a kitten before Charles brought home an adjustable base (even if his telling of the story is a little different).
